General Practitioner, Female
MBBS, FRACGP
I graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1993 and completed my General Practice Fellowship in 1997.
Being a GP was always my ambition and I enjoy the many challenges. I’ve always done, face-to-face, traditional general practice for most
of my career. I’ve enjoyed working for the West Australian Country Health Service and have worked in numerous remote placements. This
was often a solo country GP role and also managing the Emergency Department and the hospital inpatients. The most notable places were
Leonora Hospital, Wyndham Hospital and Kalumburu. During this time, I helped facilitate the transport and administration of the first
Covid vaccines to remote regional areas I’ve worked in lots of interesting places, and some of my career highlights include working at
the Centre for National Resilience at Howard Springs in the Northern Territory, during the Covid pandemic. Here I had responsibility for
over 2000 clients, who returned from overseas. Given the circumstances, it was quite challenging at times.
During the Covid pandemic, I also did a brief locum on Christmas Island.
Currently, I’m working for InstantScripts as a Telehealth doctor. This is a role that I cherish as it has so many challenges and is
incredibly rewarding. Being able to provide medical services to isolated, busy patients, otherwise not able to access a GP is incredibly
rewarding.
I’m currently doing locums in Hobart where I do traditional general practice, and Urgent Care.
